I’ve been eating in the cafe at Lifetime more and more, and my favorite thing to get there is the BLTT (the extra “T” is for turkey). The plate comes with a side of quinoa, to which I am quickly becoming addicted. It contains lots of amino acids, fiber, phosphorus, magnesium, and iron.
Add it to the list with things like avocados as a natural super-food.

i learned about quinoa last year from my brother. i have no idea where he got it from since he’s the anti-healthy eater, it seems.
you can get it at whole foods in the bulk grain section…maybe even heb now that they’re trying to step it up in that dept.
i’m glad you like it. as you noted, it’s great for you but i’m sure your body is extra appreciative now with the training.

The net is full of fabulous quinoa recipes. Quinoa was named as the grain of the future by the United Nations. We just launched the first vodka made from organic, fair trade quinoa which provides a natural organic sweetness to the spirit. Check it out at http://www.qino1vodka.com or http://qino1vodka.jimdo.com/index
cheers! Dan

is it still considered a super-food in vodka form?

i can’t wait to go to the food store and get some of this. last time i was in whole foods picking up some super artsy free range flour, i saw quinoa flour, but i had no idea what it was. so i ran away (which is my response to things i don’t understand/know about). maybe i should have gotten some and made some bread.
or at least picked up some quinoa vodka. although that probably would have led to unwise decisions this past weekend… at least i would have been healthy.
i like you.
