Postcard5 Comments

I just got a postcard from Cory addressed to Kevin “Queasy Feeling” Driver. You’ll see why in a minute:

Hi Kevin,

And you think I’m kidding, but I just helped hold down one of my artisans (at her request) while the dentist at the local souq took out 3 molars with just a set of pliers. AWESOME! The sound of teeth cracking was a bit much for me, but all in a day’s work, eh? I like your smile!

Cory

Teeth are my biggest weakness.

FlugTag5 Comments

Today is the Red Bull Flugtag. It’s an event where people construct crazy flying/gliding contraptions and launch them over water to see how far they make it. I’m not sure if I’ll be in attendance or not, but it certainly sounds like fun.

If you want to see what this is all about, there’s always YouTube.

Update: I did make it out for this, and it was fun if not a little unimpressive. Something tells me the originators in Austria would be a little disappointed with our version.

Life Update7 Comments

It’s been a while since I last posted.

I’ve finished my summer course — here is the paper we submitted.

I’ve also begun the last semester of my Master’s Degree. This fall I’m enrolled in my final two courses: “Introduction to Software Engineering” (a course about Software Engineering processes and practices) & “Project Management” (a course about managing any project across industries, not solely focused on Software Engineering projects).

My thesis work is coming along as well, but it looks to be a busy, busy next several months.

Slight Refresh3 Comments

Yesterday I refreshed the look of the site slightly. I want to do more with it, but there’s not a lot of time to dedicate to a redesign for a while. Here are some things I tweaked a little though:

- the logo color, the background-color overall
- the font-family, letter-spacing, and line-height
- links are now accentuated on hover only by color

My Patent was Granted6 Comments

My patent:

System and Method for Protecting a Title Key in a Secure Distribution System for Recordable Media Content

has been granted by the USPTO.

That’s exciting!
