CNN on Austin3 Comments

CNN has a write-up on Austin today. It’s an interesting mix of some of the things for which Austin is known. I’m not sure I would have cited/mentioned things exactly as they did.

What would you mention in an article about Austin?

    1. Home of world-renowned KEVIN THOMAS DRIVER
    2. Watch for camels by the road!
    3. Alamo Brewhouse (isn’t that what it’s called?)
    4. Close to G-town
    5. Bats, bats, bats!!

what about austin’s breakfast opportunities? we must not forget breakfast tacos, migas, and kerbey lane cafe. those things are kind of a big deal here.

also, austin is proud to have its very own homeless, cross-dressing mascot, leslie (though i’ve heard rumor he actually lives in someone’s house in westlake). he has run for mayor of austin twice, and is rumored to have been an attorney at one time. leslie’s popularity has grown so much that there are now leslie dolls available for purchase, complete with outfits to mix and match.

what other city can say that? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leslie_Cochran

breakfast, leslie, and having the resources of being in a large city without feeling like you’re actually in a large city are all quintessentially austin.
